BLUEMOMENT

I am dribbling a beer called Wobbly Badger which is, get this, 10% ABV. It has the consistency of Marmite and tastes of malt flavoured honey. Most peculiar.
After the Sunday sunburn and a couple of scoops in the cockpit, I am feeling a tad weary this evening.

A good weekend indeed with the lads. We used a Contest 32CS ketch, which is far faster than its looks might belie.

I had a splendid weekend too, spent Sunday on the Clyde looking at prospective syndicate yachts with the guys. We think we have found her. There's many a slip however and no doubt the story will unfold over the next wee while. We managed to avoid any Wobbly Badgers, sounds like it should require a prescription. Hobgoblin in the caff at Largs was pretty good though.

Well, I spent the last few days flying a Laser on Llyn Tegid (Bala) in a F5. Being a lake, surrounded by mountains & trees the wind is very unpredictable so it's great fun. Only fell off once when I let the tiller go during a tack & she tacked back on me!

Catch a gust, spill the first blast to stay the right way up & then sheet back in as she accelerates. Spray all over the place, coming from about a 1/3 back the hull as the bows are out of the water. Very, very fast. Quite pleased to blast past a Laser 2000, one of the kids on board pointing at me as I shot past them, his mouth open as his jaw dropped. I don't think they expected to be passed by a pensioner on a 30 year old battered Laser with a secondhand sail!

Your description sounds good though, it's big silly grin time when everything comes together and the boat flies.

Can't do that in a Centaur though.

Small red jib eh? I never ever managed to find enough wind to fly that sail, perhaps he was just trying it out. As for the British red ensign I'm sure he will get his warrant soon.
