The Oban Lifeboat was launched at 14.10 hours this afternoon (16th April 2011) to go to the aid of the 54 foot Moody, Morag Star. The yacht’s engine had failed just as she was approaching the pontoons at Kerrera.
The Moody was quickly blown ashore but was almost immediately towed off by the prawn fishing boat Lodestar. The owner of Lodestar is Deputy Coxswain of Oban Lifeboat, and held the casualty off until arrival of the lifeboat. The lifeboat then took over and laid the casualty alongside the pontoons before returning to her berth at 14.44 hours.
