.
Oban lifeboat has helped Clyde Coastguard track down the source of mysterious transmissions on CH16, which have been reported since 18th March. A crew member had a hunch the Luing ferry, Belnahua, might be to blame, and this has now been confirmed.

WTF is that about?

A passenger acting daft on a H/H, an unauthorised crew member? Sticky buttons?

So "faulty equipment" it is then. I've not heard of a VHF set failing in the "transmit ch16" mode before. It's usually a transmit button stuck or jammed by other gear.
