We've visited the mills at New Lanark a few times with the grandchildren, but never went beyond the buildings.

Today, the crew fancied some fresh air and a bit of gentle exercise, so the two of us drove to the carpark above the mills and then walked up past the Falls of Clyde to the weir and then back on the same side rather than the full circle.

The air temperature has been above zero for a couple of days now, but still plenty of icicles despite that.

I must admit learning about the New Lanark Mills in history at school - so I would be interested in visiting. The curriculum was Industial Revolution based so trips to canals and steam powered vessels were included.

The Ambleside Online Forum posted these wintry pictures in a slide show

There are a number of spectacular shots of the Stock Ghyll Falls in the pictures. The scary thing is - Ambleside is only a short walk away from where Chiron is moored at Waterhead!
