Christmas drink - Embra?

Having been unable to attend the Weegie meet this year I wondered if there might be any interest in such an event in Embra. I would tentatively propose Friday 3rd December as a possible date and leave the venue open to suggestions from more experienced Embra topers.
How about it?

I'll drink to that , well I often do anyway.
Location, somewhere central with seats, and decent beer.

OK that's a quorum in my book.
Any suggestions for a venue or would it be better to wait and see if there will be more than just the two of us?

What about giving it a couple of days to see if we have any other takers, if not we can find somewhere good for our various buses.

I could be persuaded to be sociable about the 3rd if I'm allowed out and I haven't exceeded Nicola Sturgeon's recommended number of units for that week already.

I'm a likely attender. How about Captain's Bar, South College St as an appropriate venue?

Good suggestion Dave. I was wondering about something in Embra or perhaps Falkirk (DaveS could put us all up for the night......).
During the Scuttlebutt discussion about tonight's drinks in Glasgow, I was going to suggest an East and Central swallie in Linlithgow, as the Star and Garter was a decent pub slap bang beside the railway station. But, alas;

The "Ensign Ewart" but then we might all disagree about its colour.
We could squabble about the "Anchor Inn"
We should steer clear of "The Ship"
I could go on..............

Someone told me that the S&G's Platform 3 bar had survived the fire, though looking at the picture that doesn't seem likely.
I'd be very happy to attend a bevvy in either Edinburgh or Linlithgow.

The good news seems to be that
Platform 3 did survive, and is open for business. Perhaps a field inspection is required. It's not a big bar, and years since I've been there, but I certainly used to like it.

Linlithgow would be fine for me, a bit of an adventure, West Lothian by night, but it may be difficult to get to (by public transport) for the Midlothian squadron

No point in giving you train times - they want money! Here's the bus timetable

The only problem with Linlithgow is that it's a two leg journey for those of us who live south of the city. I'd probably spend more time on buses than I would in the pub.
