The Calmac ferry MV Jupiter (Dunooon - Gourock) went to the assistance of two divers in trouble in the Firth of Clyde yesterday morning. The vessel was diverted from her 11.20am sailing from Gourock at around at about 11.30am to go to the assistance of the pair, one of whom was having trouble getting ashore.
Helensburgh Lifeboat was called out and Clyde Coastguard scrambled. The two divers were safely recovered and, as a precautionary measure, both were taken to Inverclyde Royal Infirmary.
Jupiter missed one sailing because of the diversion but thereafter got back on schedule.
