Navtex development

I know some people suffer poor navtex reception on the west coast, though I have found it generally quite good. Here's news of an improvement from April Fool's Day.

There is a proposal to have English on 490KHz, and a dual language transmission on 518Khz, but only in certain message categories where there will be no possibility of misinterpretation.
Google has been commissioned to provide and automated text translation from the English to minimise costs.
