well, is would seriously increase the number of anchorages you could visit. They're often marked by a white "P" on a blue background and an attractive wheelie bin nearby.
A collapsable table, pair of deckchairs and a tartan tablecloth would complete the ensemble.

you'd miss the debates about anchors, how to clean wee bits of teak and the avoidance of collisions.

would it contribute the the warming of the globe upon which it travels?

If you can afford a Hymer, can you not just get a Chinook to lift it to where you want to go?

It always worries me slightly that those things don't have a door on the driver's side. Are Hymerdrivers to stupid to be allowed their own door in case they fall out or step into the path of a juggernaut?

What? Why? We've had camper vans for the last 12 years. Towed our Rib all over Britain with it. Much better than canvas.

Indeed. I would rather scrape my eyeballs out with a rusty spoon than go caravanning - personal preference, not a dig at caravanning in general;. But one of my best ever holidays was a 3 week tour of Norway with the boys in our (t)rusty 1976 VW Type II Devon conversion. Orange/white, affectionately known as the Big Orange Love Bus. Norwegian speed limits played to it's (slow) strengths, and loaded up with kayaks, beer and good mates it was just the best way to travel.
