.
I have found a document on the Argyll and Bute website which has all the details of the proposed development in Oban HERE. (Unfortunately it is not very easy to read as each page is a poor quality jpeg which needs to be downloaded separately).

The pic below gives some idea of what the development might look like:

Nick, my leedle poodin, are you sure that it will look like that?
If so, deep joy that at some point the sun will shine and blue be the colour of ra dour Oban sky!

Jim you old misanthrope,

Oban skies are blue and a gentle warm breeze blows through as I type.

Looks good, reminds me of the new set up at Rothesay.

Personally, I find that all very negative. It would be a much easier sell in terms of local economic benefit if they'd shown the thing to be full instead of just having a handful of boats in there.
It will be handy though having the webcam at Mactavishes as people can keep an eye on their boats from wherever they are. This could of course work against anyone going for a brief burst of the extra-maritals.....

Well I just get an error message if I try the link.

I agree that the pontoons are unlikely to be empty. ISTR that some years back, when there was a pontoon on the south side of the harbour, it was aye heavin.

Try looking Here

In my dreams I think ' Bangor Marina' but fear if it ever happens that it'll be a very watered down version...

Aye it certainly looks good and even if we get a watered down version it will be good for both Oban and for sailing, the more enthusiastic support we can give it the more chance it has of happening.
