When dining with a Frenchman

When dining with a Frenchman, while working away from home, it is probably best to explain to the wife that Michel(?) - Michelle?- whom you are meeting for dinner, is in fact a 50 year old MALE.
This will avoid deathly silences and the need to extract conversation from said wife when you call home after dinner and mention that you have decided to have an early night.
