Help with language

Bonjour,
A freind of I baught in Britain a GPS, he does not read or speak English, he ask me what COG and CSE mean.
COG = Course over ground.
CSE = ? is it an abreviation for course or some thing helse ?
what is the "some thing else".
Please help.

Bonjour mon ami,

You are correct in that COG = Course Over Ground.
CSE probably = Course, but I'm not sure what the difference is. Perhaps CSE is used to display a course setting from an autopilot or something.

If you could tell us the make and model number of the GPS, perhaps someone has one the same and could tell you for sure. There may be a French translation of the manual on line as many manufacturers seem to do this.
