Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?

.
The frameset that controls that book got overwritten at some point when I was using it as a template for something else.
I've fixed it now - it should all work. One of the good things about this particular edition is that it includes lots of illustrations - scroll down on the Contents page to see the clickable list.

Absolutely NOT a complaint but on my machine all the illustrations down to "Cape Pillar" are "Not Found". After that they happily appear.
