The need to leave ports fast is an advantage!

Im staying aboard someones boat,On Friday i had a visit to ask if i would like to join a race,"sounds good" i said they were amazed when i said the boat was ready to leave at once;we cast off and went out to get used to working together.
We didnt win
& i wasnt skipper,when a line fouled on a tack round the bouy & we lost ground there was talk of putting the hapless crew member overboard 
They can be quite competitive even on a weekend freindly
