.
For 2009 we will be upgrading this board to the all new all singing all dancing phpBB3. The migration process seems pretty straighforward - I moved another board yesterday in less than an hour. It would have to be done sooner or later because phpBB2 is no longer going to be updated and support will eventually disappear. Now is a good time to do it anyway, as we are starting a new section in the New Year which some of you may have noticed, for West Highland Week.
Initially both boards will be running side by side, so there is no danger of losing any data. The database migration will only happen once though, so when it does please start to use the new board immediately, even if you have shortcuts or bookmarks to the old one. Not sure exactly when this will happen, probably in the week between Christmas and Hogmanay - watch this space for further details.
Anyone interested in a comparison of phpBB2 vs phpBB3 have a look HERE
