Adding pictures to blog

The trouble with only doing things infrequently is that one forgets how to do it...

Applies here too. Having uploaded my summer piccies into Photobucket, I now want to put them into my blog. I have done this previously, but now can't get it to work. I've no problem adding images to a post. e.g.

Image

but I can't seem to get it to work on Yotblog. Is there something obvious that I'm missing, or has something changed? I'm trying to insert them by editing existing text rather than starting from scratch, but should this make a difference?

:?

Help!

Don't know about the blog, but nice pics. Did you do much in August?

There's an add image button on the toolbar above the edit entry window (picture of a tree, third button from right) which opens a box to enter the url of the pic. Looking forward to seeing them.

Silkie:
I tried the tree button, and the other URL one, using all 4 Photobucket image options, but couldn't get any of them to work. Any help still very much appreciated.

As for the "get on with it" crack, I've been in sunny Blyth for the last three days on a distributed generation course. Phasor diagrams, performance charts and moderately hard sums that I haven't done in over 30 years...

Sgeir:
After the summer trip I've to date only had one w/e on the boat, and the forecast was bad enough to keep us fairly close to home. :(

The Direct Link from PB is the one you want. Paste this into the Add Image box (the tree) on the blog. I've just done a test to make sure I had it right.

If this isn't working for you then I haven't a clue but it might be related to your previously reported browser issue.

Problem now solved - thanks for assistance. :D

Since I tried a few alterations simultaneously it's hard to say which of them did the trick, but I accessed Yotblog using Firefox, used the tree button, then (the bit I may have omitted before) pressed Delete to get rid of the "helpfully" provided initial http// text, before pressing Ctrl V to copy the Direct text previously captured from Photobucket.

Now all I have to do is try to remember that until next year...

In the old days (60 -70s) we had a phrase to describe computers at upgrade-rollout time _ "as user friendly as a cornered rat" . It seems nothing changes, except that they make them more obscure each year.
I'm glad the current and incoming generations are in complete control, so I can get back to business ~ GIGO GIGO GIGO. that's better

More piccies!

Well, flushed with success, and coming across a CD of pics from last year, I've added some to my 2007 blog. Here: http://www.yotblog.com/DaveS/3474/; the trip starting 20 August.

I hasten to emphasis that, as with the 2008 piccies, these are Adrian's not mine. He's a semi-pro and the difference shows! I illustrated the 2006 blog with mainly my own pics if you want to compare and contrast... Now if I could only remember where I've put my camera I could maybe add some more! :?

I'm going to have to drag Stormy along here for a look. It was too wet to contemplate a wander across from the TnT on Saturday for a look, and it wouldn't have been at it's best either, we will get there in the not to distant future. :sailing:

We spied Avilion in the marina too, but she was all closed up so took notice of the "berth holders only" signs and continued our wet day out drive.

It was the off-white hull and broad blue stripe with what appears to be the name in the stripe at the stern..

Pleased to read that your Polish sale/sail went well.
