Seems like Cuan will be open for going North at around 11ish so perhaps that dictates our general direction next Friday.
Sgeir is up there anyways and so it'll be relatively straightforward to meet somewhere around the Firth of Lorne.
The weather on Metcheck is saying not much breeze and possibly damp but its a long way off yet.
Anyone got any preferences for where we go? I thought if we did Spelve and Drumbuie that would be two dry nights- perhaps around to North Harbour Gometra for a third then we'd all be back and feeling fine with livers and heeds in good order.

Actually - I've just written a load of old Tosh
Went into metcheck and its giving Dry for Fri and Sat - something wet and breezier on Sunday then moderating and drying out a bit on Monday.

Sounds like a nice idea - been through the bay before a couple of times, but only stopped there once - at Kerrera for one night, and errrm, wasn't terribly impressed with the price.

Any suggestions? Assuming a W or SW wind, wouldn't be keen on leaving her at anchor unattended. Any suggestions as to the "best" moorings?

I intend to pick up one of those by Corran Ledge as being closest to the pub. There are more over by the Northern Lights Wharf but these tend to suffer with fishing boats going out during the night as well as being a longer walk.

Are the Corran Ledge buoys still there? I'm sure I heard or read something ... can't remember the source though.

Hmm. I wasn't counting but now you come to mention it there didn't seem to be as many as I remembered from last year. BlueMoment has nothing to say on the matter and the most up-to-date information I can find on the web is here.

There are loads of moorings on the corner down by the yacht club just where the bay opens out (South End) coming up Kerrera sound. I guess there will be quite few free ones yet.
then next question is obviously which Pub?

It's not really on my cruising destinations list. I had my first pint there in about 25 years in the Lorne bar last weekend. Quite tastefully furnished in the modern antique style, medium quality beer and a helluva plate of fish'n'chips for £5.95 but nothing really to recommend. Nick'll know.

Oban in is always a handy place to gather. Further along the esplanade is Markie Dans which has a good atmosphere. In the middle of town is The Lorn which I quite like - it also does evening meals.

I assume "Oban in" is the Oban Inn if there is such a place.
