Boy it was windy at the weekend

So there I was, excited all day on Friday, with the prospect of a boys' weekend on the boat with a new set of sails to play with, and roller reefing too! After destroying a gallon of beef stew, several bottles of wine, and putting a huge dent in a bottle of self-bottled cask strength Bowmore we sat down and listened to the forecast late Friday night. This was difficult due to the gale force wind howling through the rigging but there was enough silence in between the gusts for us to hear "...Force 11... ...sea state High... ...Force 12..." So we had to stay down below for 36 hours and suffer inane chat.

The new sails (a snip at about 5 million quid) will have to wait for another day.

Wangled a cask of 18 year old Bowmore from a secret source and bottled it with a bunch of pals just before Christmas. All legal, duty & VAT paid etc etc but quite satisfying and very tasty!
