Do any forumites of this parish ever order anything from Mailspeed Marine?

The reason I ask is that we are members of their affiliate scheme with ads liberally scattered throughout the site, but no sales seem to be getting made through our affiliate ID. I don't have any faith in affiliate tracking schemes, so if anyone DOES make a purchase from MSM after clicking through on one of our links then it would be great if they could let me know so I can check. (And if you do buy from them but not through our links then please consider supporting the site by doing so - it costs you nothing)

I Have put a link below - but there are quite a few throughout the site. No point in putting more up if they are not working.

I have used them in the past, but I found that my order came in 2 or more deliveries. Nothing wrong in that I suppose, but I find that Marinestore seem to be better in getting stuff to me.

I WON'T use Force 4, as they tried to charge me "Highlands & Islands" delivery rates. Others don't, so why do they?

Simon Relph is a close personal friend of mine and I've been buying stuff from him since he was at Leigh Dinghy Stores.
We raced GP's together - he used to lead the fleets and I looked after the tail.

I use them a lot also, I have known David Sommers since he was at Lakedale marine in the 80's

I also use them, but not for mail order Nick, as my boat usually resides not 400 yards from their front door.
I will try and bear it in mind for non urgent items though. Trouble is, they give me a healthy discount.....

I don't want people thinking I am soliciting clickthroughs on our MSM ads here . . I genuinely do want independent confirmation that their tracking system is working though. All I am saying is if you are thinking of placing a Mailspeed Marine order over the web at some point please click through via our ad then let me know so I can follow it up on the affiliate tracking scheme. If you normally collect or have existing arragements with Mailspeed then I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to change them.

The reason is that we have had very disappointing results with affiliate schemes before. Some of you may remember we had some Purple Marine ads scattered around the site a couple of years ago. When we investigated the total absense of sales we discovered that their tracking system simply wasn't working (and I believe their web designer was eventually given the boot . . . ).

Mailspeed are very heplful and have been very pleasant to deal with. They have confirmed that our ads do click through correctly, and initially there were some sales. However, the number of referred customers (i.e. sales) has not increased in months, although traffic to BM has remained fairly constant at around one thousand visitors a day. Following through a known order is the only way we have of checking that the system is working, as the Mailspeed tracking system only records sales, not clickthroughs. Once we know the system is working we can address the questions of why clickthroughs are not happening, or if they are happening why they are not being turned into sales.


Again, thanks to anyone who can help. We are most emphatically not soliciting though, and neither is any criticism of Mailspeed Marine implied or intended. I would even be happy to put any commission on an order we followed up like this in the lifeboat box should the orderer prefer.

The problem is Nick, having summered in the Azores, Canaries and Balvicar at our expense - there is a credibility gap appearing here - can we trust you....this is the question.
We also notice that Fartwinds is for sale (at an incredibly ambitious price) and SoSage tells me that a bespectacled gent has been looking over Huntress - now we all know you haven't worked for years, so where is the money coming from
I think we should know.....

I buy from them, but usually visit the shop at Burnham.
