I own a 1980 Claymore based at Largs Marina purchased in 2005 and would be intrested to know how many other Claymore's are within the West Coast Area.
Last season while cruising local alarm bells went out because a distress call was received from an another vessel called Claymore which was presumed to be mine.

Hi, and welcome. There are at least two on this forum - Claymore's Claymore, Claymore, and Sahona's Claymore, errmm, Sahona. The first is currently resting in NW England, but coming back up soon (usually Loch Melfort), and the latter is the former Steayban, now at Troon.
Good grief . . .

Hi Shard & Nick,
Thanks for your quick response its nice to know you are out there, I have already met up with the owner of the Troon boat at Tarbet last year.
My base is Largs Marina and I am currently cruising convener at the Largs Sailing Club.
Its nice to be able to share problems with other owners of Claymore's.
So far I find her a nice boat and in wind speeds over 12 knots able to keep pace with other keel boats and offer better accomodation and more shelter than an open yacht, ( am I just getting old ?)
Perhaps we now have the makings of a Claymore Club.
Regards,
Claymore2

We could certainly share info like - have you found any keelbolts yet? I want to install SSB cheaply.

Claymore, Poster of this Parish and all-round Chentleman, has been remarkably quiet in this thread. Given his known travel accident problems whenever he returns to England, I wonder if he's keeping quiet about something.....

To my understanding, Claymore has resigned from this august forum.
Eh?

I suspect you're thinking of the other place. Claymore made a couple of posts here on Wednesday. He just doesn't often make it up to the dizzy heights of Basically Boaty.

I hope you are right; also I'd like to hear from him and how he's been doing with m/s "Claymore" these last few years our website has been down. It's back up and running again, this time permanently.
All the best!

Alive and kicking thank you.
Eileen - I was wondering how you both were - hope that you are in the peak of health and that you major restoration work is now complete! Any Pics?
By the way - not us being repaired at Ardfern.
Claymore is staying out of the water this season partly for a major refit and partly due to domestic and grandfatherly responsibilities

Rumours of your demise have been greatly exaggerated I see - and you've found your way to the top of the page too. Keep up the good work.
