Whilst I could never achieve the lofty heights of journalism, wit and sense of adventure demonstrated by Mr Claymore
In his absence - apparently because he has managed to forget his passwords and then exceed the permitted number of access attempts - I shall do my best
Are we thinkin' they nichts are just edgin' in a tad and will we soon be lighting up a bit earlier...>

Here was me getting a bit fidgety 'cos this bi-annual ritual of Claymore might have been missed.
Thanks, @Swansong for stepping up to the plate.

At last. The suspense drove me to post in the Current Affairs forum and I don't want people to know that I visit such websites.

That sounds like a great trip. Something I would like to do, sail or drive, maybe one day.

I can state that in a slow MoHo it’s a ferkin long way to the top of Sweden. In a saily boatie it would be interminable.
We are currently at 65-and-a-bit degrees north, 21:45 , in shorts, too hot and burny -burny outside in the sun. This part of the Baltic isn’t- it’s like swimming pool temperature. It was 14 degrees and drizzly this morning. Now it’s 25 and like the Canary Islands. But with no horrible Brit tourists.
The last UK reg plate we have seen was in Copenhagen. Bliss.
I can’t get my head round the fact that in a few months it will be dark here- for a few months and you could probably skate on the water we’ve been swimming in. Swimming in dookers.
Chust loving Scandinavia.

Aye we opted for the moho too - knew I'd never get there in a boat. Too much of a fair weather sailor for a start.
This was in 2019 then Covid got in the way of a return visit but must go back again soon.

I first crossed the Arctic Circle on foot, during a traverse of the Svartisen ice cap as part of a 7 week Norwegian jaunt in 1975. The second time was in 2007 in a rather fine Swedish sleeper train with a shower compartment and a stack of white fluffy towels.
