The sun starts heading north again now where I am. Mid 20s with a gentle breeze - pity it's the rainy season.

I'm surprised that a navigator of the renown of Claymore (he's even got at least one rock named after him) is not aware that the afternoons have been getting longer since about last Thursday as that was the day of earliest sunset. Mind you the sunrise continues to get later for a further full week.

But it is the suns nadir that counts. The lowest, vertical point below our horizon has been reached. Tomorrow it will be a little higher at nadir.

I can see that but my contention is that it is the pistoff index that is most important. When I had to work for a living I barely noticed the creeping extension of the afternoon as it was dark when I was standing shivering on the platform of the local station waiting for the train to Glasgow in the morning and it was also dark as I made my way back to Central Station in the evening. My pistoff rating reached its highest level in early January and declined only when it was light for one of the daily journeys and that happened first for the evening journey. Because by the date when the earlier sunrise becomes apparent the sunset is already over 10 minutes later than it was on the 15th of December, when it was at its earliest, and is getting later by nearly 2 minutes per day.

Indeed, the “darkest” months are still ahead.

Here in Danelandia where I am imprisoned for the duration of the festive season, I have made an in-depth study over the past 2 days of matters meteorological, and matters solsticious.
My trusty 6 ins plastic ruler suggests we are on a parallel with Aiberdeen - this calculation has not been mercatorized although there are plenty of seasonal tangerclementinerenes should I wish to progress my studies.
Yesterday we began to lose the light at 14:30hrs - 13:30 in the Granite city allowing for the Universal Brexit Central Time (UBCT)
This morning I was darkish at around 08:00 ish. (As was the day)

When I was a WP - (Working Person) I used to delight in my first journey home driving with sidelights only. I think - unless global warming, the War in Ukraine, the Pandemic or 12 years of being governed by incompetent airseholes, will dictate otherwise - that begins around the 3rd week in Feb.
I should point out that could be adjusted by skiving off work an hour or two early...
Do you think my research is remarkably revenational and should I set up a taktok account/channel thingy?

There is a chance that Dear Heart might make participation in "Seasonal Family Activities of Joy, Merriment etc" compulsory.

How’s the Christmas beer this year?

It’s the only decent thing about the whole Crimbo farce greed fest and it’s not even a ‘Thing’ here

I'm a session sort of a boozer so 4 or 5 pints of something below 4% is my preference. They Danish Jul jobbies are all around 7%. I can barely chew my way through one!
