Oh! keenly blow, While drifts the snow, The cold nocturnal breezes;

On Wednesday my yacht club held its October GM (I know it was Nov!) and I planned to park Marisca off the clubhouse, partake of the meeting and a few jars and spend the night rocked by the passing Dunoon ferries. 30s gusting over 40kts put me off and after a night in JWD I decided to give up so spent yesterday stripping sails, boom, wiring etc. ready for lift out. I have memories of crisp autumn days, pies in the oven, Eberspacher purring and short but very pleasant day sails but this year the forecast looked like unmitigated excrement.
Ah well, if I start off around 7.00am I can get about 6 hours at the boat and be back home in Edinburgh about 8.00pm thanks to Nicola and my bus pass - at ~£25 in diesel + the rest I can't justify using the car just to drink tea, chat and avoid working on the boat!
