Hosting the Clydesiders

At the recent second annual Scuttlebutt Christmas Beerathon in the Bon Accord it was proposed that there should be a Summer meet on the water. This quickly developed into two meets with the Clyde inviting the West for one and vice versa. So..

Who would be able to provide a berth for some disadvantaged inner-city boys and when? I suppose earlier is better. At the moment the only weekends not possible for me are the CC weekend (yes/no/maybe?) and the 24/25th May when I'm hoping to do the East-coasters Ostend trip.

We could take two, or three at a pinch - room for two wee bauchles in the forepeak (cosy, and <6ft), and one in the quarter berth (gargantuan).

That looks to be round about Spring Bank.

I'm planning to be up there with my new mates in the "Trail sail association" about then. They have "done" the Clyde at spring bank but sometimes gone adventurous and launched at Oban ish. If we colide say Hi. On my 18 footer it would be optimistic to say the least to offer a berth to anyone other than a verticaly challenged dwarf, once my crew is aboard that is.

How do I do a link? this is the url http://www.trail-sail.org.uk/

Small World Cruise perhaps - when I called in at Rhu yesterday to see JohnBuch (SB), his crew was introduced to me as Frank. Turned out he used to have a Trapper called ........

Small world indeed. Frank bought a Hallberg Rassy 29 after selling Boobytrapper. Did he say if he still has her?

Don't know about Spring Bank, but Springbank is a rather fine malt for them that likes the more "robust" variety... :D

For the west coast leg I could take 2/3 bods, providing the date suits.

So that's us up to between 5 and 8 berths so far.

Enough of a quorum given the numbers (I thought 9 Clydesiders at the BA and unlikely that all will make it on any given weekend) to be able to start discussing possible dates. I put my thoughts in the opening post. Any other ideas?

For May I've a problem with the w/e 17/18 since I have to go to Torquay on 18 (Union conference), then the last w/e (31/1) I'm off to sunny Morocco :) The first 2 w/es are OK at the moment...

No plans

.
So long as we get back in the water in reasonable time/shape we can take a couple of Weegies whatever weekend is decided . . .

Possibly......

My soup-dragon's not sure I should be let out with you lot due to the mess I was in after the Bon Accord incident. On a more positive note, if I do the persuasive bit, there will be room for two up front and possibly another in the back if she stays at home.

It may not be polite to post "the other place" on here, but this time I hope I will be forgiven, as I think it's important.

We can't make the Clyde weekend but we could accommodate two refugees on the West for a weekend, subject to dates and diary coinciding.
