Perhaps its just me, but I find it a little difficult to get excited about what is going to happen in seven years time, and if everyone is correct about global warming perhaps the water in the loch will have evaporated by then or the ice poles will have melted and it won't be a loch but part of a huge sea.

A navigable channel for cruisers to/from Hogganfield would give the area a big boost in the tourism department imho. However, the loch is already overcrowded with racers in the summer, many of whom do not appear to have the slightest grasp of the ColRegs.
