.
Avoid parking tickets by leaving your windscreen wipers turned to 'fast wipe' whenever you leave your car parked illegally.

Sounds good but they are not easy to dissuade. Not sure I'd want to untangle the sticky tape / paper / wipers when I got back.

Swaggers . . . . how good to hear from you

Parking tickets and rain were not too much of a problem when we were in Las Palmas earlier this year.

Hope you have a brilliant crossing . . . perhaps you could post the occasional update here (well, in STB perhaps rather than the Handy Hints section . . . )

Irresponsible post

The original post was highly irresponsible imho.

I recently went shopping for a couple of bottles of fine wines at Oddbins. There was no available parking so I decided to take Webcraft's advice by parking my 4x4 in the only remaining disabled bay in the street outside our local children's clinic. It wouldn't have been a problem as I was only going to be a few minutes. But it was illegal parking, so, I thought, fine, it's raining, I'll leave the wipers running so the greedy bastards won't be able to stick anything under them. Of course, the ignition needs to be on for the wipers to work, so I left the keys in the ignition. I was therefore furious to discover, when I came out of the shop, my beautiful new Chevvy Captiva had been stolen.

The police found it a couple of days later with the hifi and GPS systems stolen. The car will never be same again, and, also, my family now don't like being in it as the thieving little scrote did a dump on the back seat. I don't know how people can stoop so low.

I don't know how people can stoop so low.

The Chevvy Captiva has excellent headroom in the rear, allowing a determined dumper room to squat without stooping so low. Get a coupe and you won't have this problem again.
