There is a clear link here between the Scottish West Coast, HRH and the need to not run the Rustler on the rocks.
This infuriates me because for services to "Making members of the Royal Family feel welcome at small to medium sized chandeliers and boatyards in Argyll" - which I have done for a number of years now - I get, yet again, blimey all of a mention. Before you all start chipping in - I do it because I like the woman and that is my reward - like the Hon. Prop of Antares who, in all probability never had honour in mind when he set about introducing all these new underwater snags.....

I though that Claymore was one of the surveyors for Antares? You seem to do better than most at finding stuff lurking underwater

No - that was me being creative - glad you spotted it - makes it all seem worthwhile somehow.
Anyway -if you've never touched the bottom (the seabed!) you are not trying and you need to do better...

Yes, well deserved. I take great pleasure in extolling the virtue of his charts to friends from outwith the WoS.

I bought the Antares charts and they're snugged up on my lappie. Trouble is I don't know what to do next. Checked over the instructions but got no further.
Can anyone give me a simple starter please? I'll probably try to get no 2 son to sit alongside me for when the concentration lapses.

I just bought Antares charts this week too, I can't get Memory Map to work properly yet, the Antares charts come up when I click on them though.

I thought it would be like Open CPN where they load seamlessly as I scroll around.

I'll keep the paper charts at the ready for now.

I have mine working in Window 7, but it is a bit of a faff organising the folders so that MM can find the various chart types. I think that I also had to purchase the Import Third Party Maps licence ad on which was about £20 or so, it was a while ago so not sure. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. Try right clicking at a point which one of Bob's charts covers and select Charts at this Point (or something similar) and all the chart types should come up, including Antares.

Yes installation is a bit lengthy and you do need the licence number that Bob provides but I don't remember an extra fee apart from buying the UKHO package.

When Antares is installed, you should be able to see at least a file called AC selector ... in the Map List if Memory Map is looking at somewhere on the west coast. If not then Antares isn't installed right. Go back to Bob's instructions.

In use, you have to zoom in a lot to get the Antares chart to show up. On a tablet you can select it from the map list. On windows, right click on the chart area and In to large scale map.

To be honest...
The Antares Charts are good, but the Memory Map folder systems and licensing arrangements are POOR & Confusing and their support is equally unimpressive.

I use Seaclear, and the Antares charts run seamlessly with the ordinary ones.
Only slight glitch is scale. When I go over the boundary of an Antares chart it comes up at too big and I have to reduce size a bit.
I'm on my fourth year of charts, there are a huge number of them now.
