Erica found "Death In Shetland Waters" , #5 in the series, on a book swap pile and brought it home.
I enjoyed it so have bought "Death on a Longship & The Trowie Mound Murders" for my reader.

They are who-done-it's with some sailing of various kinds thrown in.
I like the way she slips into Shetlan, there is a glossary at the end of each book.

Typical - I bring book 5 home and then buy all the other online! BTW the author has a column in PBO.

Currently reading book 3.

It's just the right amount of technical boaty talk but if you are a non-boaty you can still understand what is happening. I like the background feeling of the real problems facing Shetland as they are bang up to date with credit crunch and oil reserves. Aquaplane* has issues with the Shetland tidal heights at the start of the chapters in keeping with the narrative.
