Oban Bay Harbour Authority - developments

Results from the online survey are now available http://obanharbour.scot/information/oba ... bmissions/ in four pdfs. There were over 550 responses, almost unanimously opposed to a CMAL harbour authority, over 80% from leisure boaters.
Oban Bay Management Group (CMAL, Argyll & Bute Council and NLB) are holding another Public Meeting on Thursday 6 September at 7.30pm at Corran Halls, Oban, to discuss feedback from the survey and to update the community on OBMG activity on the harbour authority arrangements.
There has been a move from the Oban Bay Stakeholders Group (fishermen, yotties, local businesses etc.) to investigate establishing a Trust Port in Oban but this will take time and a lot of money. Meanwhile, councillors from Argyll & Bute Council have started to show an interest in extending the existing Municipal Port as an interim measure.
