Spent Monday sailing in Loch Craignish
1 night in Ardfern
Came home late Tuesday aft
It rained from Glasgow

Off to Windermere in the morning for a couple of days on Patriot

In Ardfern tonight on Chantilly, but working of course, not playing . . .

Missed Shard by a day in Tobers, Claymore by a day here - but met up with DaveS in Pullers on Monday and in Craobh last night.

No wind today but a great wildlife cruise up Loch Craignish with seals and porpoises. Back to Dunstaffnage tomorrow.

So overall a great weekend. Thurs night in our berth in Kip; Fri night rolling on a buoy at Lamlash; Sat night hiding from the wind in Largs; Sun night in Port Bannatyne; Mon night in Holy Loch marina; and home for Tues night with the rain staying off until we were halfway home in the car.

So you didn't see us moving the boat at 4 in the morn after the wind came round to the east and the tide went out?????????. It got a bit shallow.
It was only a small bump on the bottom

Can't say that I did although I was up and about a few times during the night. I had removed the Bruce from the roller and lay it on it's back on the foredeck and loosely tied it to the guardwires but it was sliding about so I had to crawl forward with a piece of nonslip matting.

I take it that you weren't on an 'official' visitors mooring. I would hope that they were all in sufficient water. BTW, how many visitors moorings are there? Despite Welcome Anchorages saying 20, I could only see about 15.

The "Lamlash roll" is a well-kent phenomenon. Why on earth were you guys not round at KingsCross for the night - you can even purloin a mooring occasionally if you must.

I experienced the 'Brodick roll' last year!

I was at Lamlash because I believed that the easterly wasn't going to blow up till Sat afternoon. I intended to be in Troon by then.

We survived and will put it down to experience. We could have hidden behind Holy Island but we would have to sit it out for some time - Sunday afternoon probably.

That's twice now that we've returned to the mainland from Arran in heavy easterly weather - It's a long way in such conditions.

Like Ash said Easterly came early, when we anchored it was flat calm and also when we got back from the pub at 1am.
As for Kings Cross.............. It's too far to row to the pub.

No we didn't want to pay, We just picked up a mooring near the pier. It looked ok and we gave it a good blast of reverse before heading to the pub. Not sure how many moorings there are but I believe there is some type of colour coding. I think it might be blue for overnight or a few days and yellow for longer. It's Lamlash sailing Club that own them now.

We pick up a mooring in Lamlash,go to the pub or whatever, then motor across to KX during the evening.
One of our members has a mooring within (almost!) walking distance of the Drift-Inn.
One annoyance with the visitors moorings is the Holy-Isle ferry charging through them rather than going at a reasonable pace through the marked channel - or has that improved now he 'owns' the moorings?

I had this problem last year with the smaller of the two ferries - I complained to the man in the hut.
