Although that statement is true as it stands, you do seem to be drawing an unwarranted inference about habitual behaviour on the basis of a single observation.Nick wrote: That level of confidence is unlikely to be attained if you just put the engine on every time conditions are a bit challenging.

I was under the impression that this had turnd into a general discussion rather than referring solely to the yacht Postscript. However, if we are talking specifically about Postscript then she was seen twice, once being towed into Oban by the RNLI when it was breezy and once motoring up the Sound of Mull in a fresh breeze.Alan_D wrote:Although that statement is true as it stands, you do seem to be drawing an unwarranted inference about habitual behaviour on the basis of a single observation.Nick wrote: That level of confidence is unlikely to be attained if you just put the engine on every time conditions are a bit challenging.

Mark, you seem to assume that there is an implied criticism in a completely neutral sentence. I thought this is a discussion, not an argument.
Anyway, it's one I'm out of for now - I'm off to Largs to take ship for exotic parts. Have a nice week everyone

Nah, he's looking for an empty room to start a fight in.
Have a great break, Nick, sorry if I upset you, just trying to show that there are different strokes for different people, & that don't necessarily make them lesser people.
