Perhaps you should start locking up the next motor Nick and not leave the keys in it. I wish my parents would do the same with their house
One of the things I said to the wee man was that he had come to a place where people felt safe leaving the keys in their cars and spoilt it . . .
On Radio Scotland this morning I heard someone saying that 30% of all the people currently living in the countryside had moved there from cities in the last 5 years. I reckon you should need a license.

BTW Claysie's luck has struck .. I've just broken ta front spring and blown out a tyre. Changing a tyre in -7 in snow and ice in a T shirt, in slippers, no socks and no phone is not the way forward! Then driving to the garage at 5mph and walking home in snow in aforesaid t-shirt and slippers does get you funny looks!
Not been listening to the people on the telly?
By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.

Eeeek . . . sorry Puddock

nick, i`m glad that things appear to be on the way to resolution without recourse to litigation but i am afraid, imho, that there is a huge contradiction in the above quote.
i could indeed recommend a good lawyer.
you will be aware of the old adage - " you get what you pay for ".

I have a 'lightly used' keyboard breathalyser device if you need it.

Some of the less kind on here might say too lightly used . . . hang on to it, it might come in handy

It is surplus to my requirements now, hopefully. Last 6 months of last year were NOT good times. Hopefully this year will be better.

Thawing here today. I have just bought a V-Reg Nissan Almera on Ebay from a Glasgow bus driver called Machej for £850 and am taking the train down to pick it up tomorrow. V-Reg 71,000 miles, air conditioning needs refilled, MOT till November.
The polis are not going to pay for the recovery and storage despite having said they would - in Oban three different officers said they would but the Strathclyde Polis office that deals with this particular type of misery and mayhem said no. Munros are being very good - they will dispose of the car for nothing, and they are only charging me £50 for the recovery. It's been an expensive start to the New Year, so if you could all go and spend a fortune on Amazon via the link at the top rhs of the page that would be good.
(Now watch out for the Crimson love child reproducing some of this information elsewhere - what a sad cyberstalking twat)

Am I right in thinking the Almera has a cam chain rather than belt?

Yes, you are correct Markie. It is a big plus when buying an old one with an incompletel service history.
Brilliant cars, the only problem I have come across is that the sump rusts through. The Almera's second hand value has been helpfully depressed by Clarkson describing it as the worst car in the world.
