Midweek and late Nov / early Dec likely to be quieter than weekend (esp. Friday) nearer to Christmas what with all the office parties etc.

I concur with regard to the congestion isue on a Friday night. Those who participated in a similar event last year will remeber a highly entertaining occasion taking place in somewhat cramped conditions. On a second issue, taking Shard's point re. the Doric's upstairs restaurant / downstairs bar, would it be worth settling on two parallel start times for eaters / drinkers and purist drinkers respectively? (These need not be very far apart, early purist drinkers safeguarding seats for eaters subsequently moving downstairs.) Or is this all getting a bit too organised?
