In Espevaar at the moment - it is lovely, best described as what Easdale Island would like to think it is. Off to Haugesund after breakfast, where I will procure an internet connection good enough to check the weather thoroughly. As soon as we see a reasonable weather window of 60 hours or more we will be heading for Peterhead. May go to Utsira first. Will give you a bell when we set off, estimated time on passage given reasonable weather is 60 hours for the 250 or so nautical miles.

Well, that is the blog updated as far as Haugesund. We are out of money, nearly out of alcohol and all fjorded out so we are planning to set of across the North Sea towards Peterhead tomorrow. It's looking like a fairly calm crossing, probably not enough wind and a lot of motoring, so we need to top up with diesel before we leave. ETA PH is Monday evening, but if we have to wait for wind due to a lack of diesel it could be longer.

Next update probably from a Scottish internet connection . . .

Had a text at 11.39 this morning from two miles off Peterhead. It sounds like they managed to sail most of the way, some of it in sunshine and F4.

Good to hear they made it back safe and sound. A hell of a trip, even if they missed the best of the weather. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics.

Disappointed that we haven't yet heard from the intrepid pair. Of course they may be having some difficulty re-adjusting to the £2 pint.

I've been wondering about this - you don't suppose they been doing a Crowhurst and now cannot live with their guilt do you?

I am meeting them tomorrow at Muirtown Marina in inverness, going down the canal with them over the weekend. They said they probably won't have internet connection until they get there which is tomorrow afternoon.

They are heading to Lossiemouth, should get there this afternoon.

I wonder if you would mind secreting the log book about your person and posting it to Claymore Towers. Just a precaution you understand - one cannot be too careful nowadays. Silkie or my ageing retainer will refund the postage of course. There is a guinea in it for your troubles.

Hmm - well I understand your dilemma. Perhaps I might offer a word of advice.

The ageing Ps alluded to their current state of being a tad strapped for cash - might I respectfully suggest that on meeting them you run through the 'oh blimey - I left my wallet at home' routine
The bold webmaster once caught me unawares and before I had had time to gather myself he'd stung me for about 2 poundsworth of drink....took me ages to get over it
