Got the cruising chute, will the tiller pilot cope do you think?

I've been back and photographed it - but it was always tied that way - honest - I just wasn't confident enough to saw anything without checking first!

I'm not sure that it will react fast enough! Should I look out more 'bits o' wood' to build a short sprit or will we just try to tear off the pulpit? At least we don't need to climb the mast first to fit the spinaker block and halyard.
