Aqua, I am late logging in tonight, were you looking for me?
I am leaving Rothesay dock at 0730-0800 tomorrow, will keep an eye out for Seminole, btw what make is it?
Must admit I am shattered with all the prep over the last few days, and will have to do some small bits and peices on the way down river tomorrow.
As my luck would have it, it is to rain all day tomorrow, and here was me hoping to get some non slip painted pannels touched up, guess it will have to wait, at least it will get the cobwebs off the Gill gear.

It is certainly handy for us Lbb, when I first bought HB it was my intentions to keep her in the yard at Millport, but I am glad now I dident, a little too far to travel every day for half the winter
I have to say Keith (yard manager) is a gentleman to deal with, and very helpful in any way he can be.

C_W, I sail on Windermere, it was my parents moving Seminole from Dumbarton to Tarbert. I thought you may have been at Sandpoint marina over the winter too, though I suppose there are many places other than there to keep a boat.

Yep it is a Jeaneau Espace, Ash gets the coconut, well maybe a bounty bar.

Well did they get Seminole to Tarbert on sat?
We did eventually get from Clydebank to Fairlie and sailed all the way from Dunbarton rock via Sandbank, or as near as be damn to it, then one long tack to the Cumbrae centre pontoon, or skating rink.
Must have picked the worst day of the spring so far to move her.
Hope your parents got on ok though.

Being the fair weather sailors that they are, they cancelled Saturday due to rain.

They moved the boat on Sunday, there was a bit of a chop, wind over tide situation I believe, but they got round OK. I had a call tonight that they are OK and Dad is going for the car tomorrow despite having had a busy few days, I don't suppose he will have a rest day and leave it 'till Wednesday though.

Red Bounty? I usually get the blue ones, are the red plain chocky?

PPPS - I had fully expected this post to be revealed as an April Fool - how do you have only one of two burgee carry away - different hoist?

BM Burgee does not have the line sown in and no toggle, poorly tied knots in nylon cord
with 40 kts of wind highlighted the weakness. I now have the replacement and would appreciate any hints and tips on properly securing it to the flag halyard,

Don't think that I'll be of much help - my burgee is still in the house - in fact all the boaty gear is still in the house - can't seem to get motivated - I should be driving up to Ardlui today with the bunk cuhions - I suppose that we could sleep on the sail bags.

I'm a great one for an extra knot - just in case - so a bowline - with a couple half hitches on the tail of the bowline - and a figure of 8 on the end of the tail -
that nylon stuff is slippy ya know.

The paranoid would then cover the knots with a few turns of self amalgamating tape.

Then you sew a short safety line across the gap in the halyard so that if any of the above does fail - the halyard is still continuous and won't need to be re reeved.

I saw them slowing down when they got to Cloch. It must have been a wee bit bumpy going across to Toward, but once round the corner OK
