Having just recently joined this distinguished forum and while perusing the previous posts I suffered a mite of chagrin to find my throw away comments on another forum have had such an unintended effect.
As "AWOL" I responded to a post by "aquaplane", in what I intended to be a reasonably gentle manner, to point out that the IRPCS aka Colregs do not apply on waters not navigable by sea-going vessels. It never occurred to me that the words "I almost hate to point out" could lead to the inference that I took "great delight in pointing it out". I simply ain't that subtle. Please accept my assurances that no flame or rebuke was intended.
I shall try to behave in a more restrained manner if and when I post on here.
PS sorry about the motoring cone - it won't happen again.
It all boils down to the fact that it's much easier to misinterpret people online than it is in the flesh. Indeed some people seem to go out of their way to do so but that's another problem.
Aquaplane over-reacted to your comment in another place but you have also inferred something that wasn't there from Sahona's reponse to your photoshopping, all IMHO of course.
Well, no, actually, now that I come to think of it...
It is interesting Silkie my beloved, that you should post that picture of the Claymore wheelhouse window.
On purchasing Claymore back in 1996, the first thing I removed was a similar, well stuck-down notice informing readers of "love child on Board"
How strange that someone should either so describe themselves or be content to leave such an offensive notice, posted by a third party, in full view.
I now wonder whther there is a genre of Claymore owners who do in fact perceive themselves to be Bastards.
That is not my perception of my good self and nor, I sincerely hope, is it the perception of others
