A man's sailor . . . I wonder what PaulineB would have made of him?

the aftermath

Post by little boy blue »

yes - i appear to be the proud new owner of "anemo".
as you say all trace seems to disappear. you`re left wondering " what do I do now ?".
however buying may be the easy bit. i took a few photos of the boat at the weekend. i am now ploughing my way through woofy`s guide to posting pics with a view to auctioning the boat on here. with a bit of luck and a brain transplant i may have it all worked out by xmas.
now .... do i need a couple of cleats ? .... i wonder ......

Just goes to show..

It only takes two bidders to make an auction. Even although you undoubtedly got a bargain, either of us could have got it for half the price without the other's interest.

Whatever she wanted probably. Isn't that what women do?

Am I alone in thinking that PaulineB's avatar is one of the finest in the whole of cyberspace? I presume it is a picture of her in person but it hardly matters really, so good is it at representing the persona she projects.

It occurs to me that my discourse is a trifle florid. Blame Patrick O'Brian. I'm currently half-way through The Fortune of War and pacing myself as best I can.

Pacing yourself?

There's another 14 volumes in the lending library . . .

Nothing wrong with a bit of florid discourse . . . which btw is an anagram of 'CUDDLE FOR OSIRIS' or 'FIORD DISCLOSURE' or 'SUICIDE FOR LORDS'

Thanks for the loan of Desolation Sound.

Midlothian Libraries are good for the next few apart from The Ionian Mission so I will certainly accept your kind invitation (on behalf of Seil Island Bookshelves) in the near future.

if your offer still stands but don't know when I'll next be in your neck of the woods. Got to collect my almanac too! I must get some time off sorted out tomorrow.

I rarely make offers that fall over . . . although the offerer might.

Is Silkie still in and why might you not come to see her if she is?

Yes she is and I will be up ASAP but I'm just not sure when. Next weekend at the latest I hope.

There's an ad in YM this month, so we'll see if their extortionate advertising rates are justified.

Re-listing unsold items

Post by Silkie »

Sadly, no-one wanted to buy my steaming light. :( I'm going to re-list it (perhaps after a decent interval!) but can't see an easy way to do this. Am I missing something or do I just need to list it again?

Relisting

Post by Nick »

The easy way is to go to the item and use the 'list similar' function- allthe fields are then pre-populated.

Someone has just posted a rig tension gauge here

So far the YM ad has brought in about ten users . . . early days though.
