Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
The 5 litre cans are the largest size available in the higher performance material, as apparently the copper settles out.
I think it should not be too hard to sell the 2.5 litre cans, even 20 of them?
I have used their Cruising material before, performed as good as any.

I'm with Steve - 4 ×2.5 cans of Cruising in blue would do 2 years with little hassle, no decanting.
Lets see what A N have to offer

Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
According to a post on TOP back in 2012 by the Gaelforce guy in Inverness their antifoul is made by Flag. After this year I am not on for the Cruiser offer, on the possibly unjustified assumption it is still the same.

My Akzo Nobel (International and many other brands) contact is off on leave, so I won't get any news on this until next week earliest. Seems to be between Flag and Akzo for selection, others not interested.

Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
I'm not getting any enthusiastic response from my Akzo Nobel contact, so have decided to just get this order sorted - or drop it.
So Flag are keen enough to sell some antifoul to us.
I've mentioned the prices already, but I didn't clarify about VAT. I'm not sure yet if those prices include VAT or not. It's quite normal to quote prices between businesses without VAT, and while I didn't say I was buying as a business, nor did I say the reverse. So I'll get that clarified.
I think the 2.5 litre cans are the most practical. And the Cruising version of their two types. I've used this before and had good results myself.
They're £20.68 each. (and if not including VAT that would be £24.82 each worst case)
Internet pricing otherwise is about £33-34 each, plue £5-6 shipping. (our offer is freight free to a single delivery point)
So, time to enlist if you wish.
Minimum order is 20 cans. I'll take 4 (it keeps well for a few years) Who wants some?
If I can get more than the remaining 16 cans, then I'll order it.

Hi Geoff, I do appreciate your efforts on the group buys. I am still wearing in my anchor chain and have been very impressed by the amount of zinc added in the exercise. Just end-for-ended it this weekend so that it all gets the nibs worn off, just need a bit of extra thought now in interpreting the now reversed depth colour coding. I'd be up for 4 cans of the AF. Not too picky about colour, already got layers of red, blue and black on my bottom.

I'm pretty loyal to Cruiser Uno, mostly because it's thick and gloopy and I can get a good coat on between tides.
If one of Flag's offerings is comparable, I would be interested.

I've used Cruiser Uno, Flag and Seago (no longer made), and couldn't really tell the difference between them.

Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
I've used Gaelforce own brand, International Bottomcoat, Micron, and Cruiser Uno.
GF was thin, runny, would need two coats. Bottomcoat similar. Micron is good stuff but of course very pricey.

Yes please Geoff. 4 x 2.5L for me but I'd like an opt-out if it's anything other than a shade of blue.

I am not enthused by the Cruiser version, so no thank you, but kudos for trying.

Confirmation on price.
The quote price is not including VAT, so actual price is £24.82 per 2.5 litre can.
I'm ordering it in blue, and will let you know about delivery details etc as soon as I can.
Thanks for letting me know even if this product isn't best suited for you.

Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
Yes please, 4 cans of blue will cover us for 2 years I think. Having used Gael Force for several years past (entirely satisfactory I've found) I now have a surfeit of 2 pear anodes. Anyone need one?

Re: Bulk Purchase again anyone? Antifoul?
Antifouling is ordered. Will be delivered Monday (they say). Would be prudent to allow a couple of days on this. Min order was 20 cans. I want 4 for myself. All are dark blue.
a 4 can order is a few pennies short of £100.
Orders are:
Cpedw 4 cans
SteveN 4 cans
mm5aho 4 cans
Mehitabel 4 cans
That leave 4 cans available, which if no-one here wants, I'll flog elsewhere.
Let me know how you want to collect. I work in Cumbernauld (much of the time) and live in West Lothian. My boat at Rhu marina, so could also take it there. Three options available as a collection place. Can pay by cash, cheque, or bank transfer (I'll pm details).
