Darren Taylor Yacht Repairs

Post by Nick »

Many of you probably already know Darren. He's a wiz with fibreglass or wood, so if you need any work done give him a buzz.

He's got a website at https://mainsail-marine.co.uk with pix of some of the work he has done, and there are also some interesting boats for sale on it.

I know, I was on board her three weeks ago.

All the whisky had been removed!

What's the new boat going to be, Dave?

Yes, I carefully tidied away all my stuff (including the whisky). It took 6 car trips, and I'm still cleaning smoke damage off things. Down to only 4½ storage boxes still to process.

Well, provided neither Thursday's survey or Friday's sea trial throws up any horrors, a Seastream 34.

Just had a look round Darrens WWW site, the listing for Chimera in the "for sale" bit, has a pic of an Ecume De Mer as the banner pic. The rest look like pics of Chimera.

Coincidentally, there's a revived thread about the Seastream 34 on Scuttlebutt.

Thanks for that. I've now read it (it's months since I was last on Scuttlebutt) and left a comment.

The Ecume, Silver Lining, used to be owned by a friend / work colleague. You met him on the pontoon at TV this summer.

Oh, is it that one? I didn't realise. It was odd when I was talking to him and could identify his boat when not many could, and it turned out that he had looked at Pete's boat.

I emailed him about a month or so ago to query if he could perform a task I needed doing and so far I have not received a reply. This just confirms that the level of service these days poor in general.
