when I open member`s profiles most tell me when the member last visited the forum, a few do not.
why is this ?

Not sure although I've an idea. If you care to PM me a couple of names of those whose profiles don't display this info I could probably confirm my hypothesis - or possibly not. :)

Found one - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=840

And another - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=260

an t'other - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=105

Any pattern?

we, ( silkie and I ) thought the lack of " last visit " info might be because the members chose to hide their status. the three examples you have quoted are all fairly prolific posters and I am certain I have seen all " online " in the past.
I wasn`t sure if it was even possible to post when hiding your status so I am hiding my status on this visit. the next prod of the submit button will reveal the answer to that.

that would be me checking if the post above had made it.
I wonder, if you hide status, does that wipe out the memory of your last " unhidden " visit ?

nb - you are aware the forum clock is an hour astray
