I heard it had a reputation during the Troubles but had no problems there in the last couple of years.

We were there, camping and then renting a room, during the first or second summer of the peace process. Nothing but friendliness.

Incidentally, the nearby village of Glen is worth a visit. I was privileged to be allowed to sit in, with my big bazouki, with some of the local musicians - plus a visiting Aussie, with his own great songs, on guitar, and a retired US guy on bodhran. Played two nights (or maybe three - can't remember), and the joint was jumpin'.

The last night we were there; ok, perhaps it was a wee bit after hours. Anyway, the gards showed up, hadn't been seen in years, told us we had two minutes to get out. Shame really, but a great night.
