According to the BBC nobody was onboard the drill rig, which is rediculous, how are they ment to reattach without having people onboard..
And now they have an even bigger problem to solve, obviously had no plan in place incase the bridle snapped, which is quite a common occurrence.

Why were they towing a drilling rig down the west coast of Lewis with the weather that was forecast. Sounds like a gamble to me, I've been on a transoceanic rig being towed when the bridle snapped, not fun, just a single line from rig to towing vessel, fine in calm conditions but in any large sea st...

Yes we heard the same, it is a shame. We were married in Harris too and spent a few nights in the hotel. Also sailed Orla into the bay and spent a week on one of the moorings for our anniversary.. +1 to the above posts. I don't post to much on here but I read most things and always come away with a smile or a laugh. The same can't be said for TOP, I come away angry and disliking to many people, I have no negative thoughts about anyone here, long may it continue. Anyway for what its worth :sal...
